A secluded cottage on a beautiful, serene acre (plus) waterfront lot
The property is 1 1/4 acres in a secluded quiet area with no visible neighbors. It is a place to connect with nature and enjoy true peace and serenity. You can fall asleep at night listening to the sound of the running water and wake up to the sounds of nature. Read a book on the deck or take afternoon naps in the hammock. Fish from the back yard. The creek has native trout and is stocked. Watch the fish jump out of the water from the back deck. See the deer crossing the creek and a blue heron searching for fish on the rocks. The deck has a picnic table and a grill for outdoor eating. There is a patio with adirondeck chairs and a fire pit to sit around at night and watch the stars. There is a kayak for you to use in the creek to relax or fish and river tubes to float. You can use the beach chair if you want to just sit and cool off with the water running over you.
This house is bright and cheerful with lots of light. Art fills the walls giving it soul and colorfulness. It is a magical place filled with inspiring pieces from my travels.
OUTSIDE THE PROPERTY...
There is a path across the creek to walk along and a small lake on the top of the hill.
THIS HOUSE FEATURES...
One guest bedroom, 1 large bathroom, eat in kitchen, living room with a wood burning fireplace and high cathedral ceilings, a sun room with comfortable furniture and a laundry area. The whole back of the house has windows that look out onto the creek. There is Wifi, television, DVD and a stereo CD player. There is a portable floor air conditioner in the kitchen and living room area and ceiling and floor fans in each room. Most of the time it is cool enough that it is not needed. I love to keep the windows open to hear the sounds of nature and the running water. The guest bedroom has a full size mattress, desk and dresser. The sun room has comfortable modular furniture that you can sink into. It can be rearranged to comfortably sleep 2 persons... This room overlooks the creek with 2 large windows and a sky light. There is a folding standing divider if you want privacy.
Dogs are welcome, however, they are not allowed on the furniture. Luna, the neighborhood dog most likely will visit you during your stay. She is super- friendly and most of my guests and their dogs love her and her visits. (see reviews)

Summary: Absolutely wonderful couple of days spent at this beautiful house on a creek. If you love nature, beauty, fishing in a peaceful setting this is the place for you. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Summary: The backyard going up to the river is amazing. When my wife and I booked, the listing said the property had no visible neighbors. Unfortunately, that was not true. While standing on the back deck, you can see (through the trees) another house at the top of the hill going up from the back yard. Once you go down into the backyard, the view becomes direct and unobstructed.Additionally, there is an infrequently used road that runs right in front of the property, so it does not have the completely isolated feel that we were expecting. When down by the fire pit by the river, we could hear the conversations of people on the road bridge over the river.That said, once I adjusted my expectations, I was able to shift my plan for the stay and enjoy myself. My original intention was to spend most of the time at the property, enjoying the isolation. Instead, the stay became much more about "going out" and doing stuff than we had intended. The host is great with communication, and visits from the neighborhood dog Luna were delightful. We loved opening the back doors and listening to the sound of the river. We didn't get to enjoy the outside as much as we'd like because it rained most of our stay, but watching and listening to the rain fall on the river was delightful. Overall, sadly, the stay was sullied by what felt like misleading advertising. I shared this with the host, and hopefully the listing will be updated.

Summary: My son and I went to go fishing, unfortunately after 2 day of heavy rain the stream was unfishable. But still had a great time. Host is wonderful. Definitely would like to go back and fish the stream again. Met Luna when she came for a visit on Saturday, she friendly and very nice. If your looking for a quiet place to relax I recommend staying here.

Summary: My husband and I and our dog enjoyed our stay very much. The house was interestingly decorated and comfortable. Situated on a beautiful river it was so nice to return to after hiking. Very relaxing and peaceful . I enjoyed breakfast on the deck listening to the water and enjoying the warm sun. In the late afternoon sitting out by the river was a perfect ending to the day. . I would highly recommend a stay here.

Summary: I was looking for a quiet spot to do some soul searching, close to good hiking....and this home was PERFECT. Although it's located in a community, as advertised I didn't really see any neighbors. The home itself has so much personality, unlike many other "nondescript" places where I've rented before. I like to cook and the kitchen was well equipped. The bidet was a welcome surprise and the tub is large enough for a good soak. The huge deck was a perfect place to have coffee and dinner and just hang out. Unfortunately, my fire pit nights got rained out, but the spot is lovely to sit and listen to the stream.I spent my days hiking nearby--really good trails only 15-20 minutes away. I only ate one meal out--a really good Colombian restaurant I passed on my way in. Fabulous!Visitors: an eagle (twice!), turkeys, buzzards, deer and of course the neighborhood dog Luna, who came to the slider and woofed to say hello!Definitely a gem and hope to visit again in the future!
